Below you will find some useful information that will help understand how to properly use DTC Remover.


Fields available:
- OBD Code: Here you can enter any standard OBD code to be deleted, the group letter (P,C,B,U) is mandatory (eg. P0403 is correct but only 0403 is not allowed)
- MAN Code: Here you can enter the manufacturer specific code to be removed, see the notes below for some examples.

It is possible to insert both the OBD and manufacturer codes simultaniusly to have the software remove all references of the code with one operation.

Where available you can use the "Scan Function" to get a list of all the available fault codes in your file, this is also usefull to see how the software has formated the codes (see the notes below for VAG, BMW, MB...).

Checkboxes available (availability depends on the ecu model):
- Disable: Used to disable the code by clearing the priority flag;
- Remove: Used to remove the code at a lower level in cases where using "disable" did not remove the limp home (the technique used varies depending on the type of control unit);
- Checksum: Used to correct the checksum for some EDC15 ecu's. By default, the EDC15 checksum is not selected;

Partial Reads
If you are using a tool that reads partials files with smaller then standard file sizes go to the setting window and select the "Skip file size check" option.

The many available diagnostics tools will report error codes in different standards and if you don't properly format the code or put it in the correct field (OBD/MAN) it might not be found.

Tips for working on VAG group:
+ OBD codes always have the group letter (ex. P0403)
+ OBD codes with more then 5 characters must be cut (ex. P200200 must be inserted as P2002)
+ VAG 4-digit hexadecimal manufacturer codes should not have the group letter (ex. P3071 must be inserted as 3071)
+ VAG 5-digit decimal number manufacturer codes must be formatted with zero padding in front if they are shorter then 5 digits (ex. 123 must be inserted as 00123)
+ VAG 5-digit decimal number manufacturer codes that are longer then 5 digits must have zero padding removed (ex. 012345 must be inserted as 12345)

The basic rule for VAG manufaturer code input is that the software will treat 4 character inputs as VAG 4-digit hexadecimal and 5 character inputs as VAG 5-digit decimal number. No other sizes are accepted.

Tips for working on BMW EDC16 / EDC17:
+ OBD codes always have the group letter (ex. P0403)
+ Manufacturer codes should not have the group letter (ex. P3071 must be inserted as 3071)

Tips for working on MB:
+ Codes that are displayed like this P200200 need to have the last 2 digits removed (ex. P2002)

Tips for working on Opel:
+ Codes that are displayed like this P2002-00 need to have the last 3 characters removed (ex. P2002)

Tips for working on RENAULT EDC16:
+ Only P-codes are supported, no DFxxxx

Tips for working on IVECO EDC16:
+ Put the 3 digit numerical manuafcturer code in the MAN field

Tips for working on MARELLI MultiJet:
+ Use the "Reset self learnt functions" with the diagnostics tool if the MIL lamp is on (and you are using "Remove" functionality)
